We're absolutely thrilled to be awarded the national AbaF SME Award, for our joint work with Envelope Group, for the Festival of Voices.
During winter, Hobart's annual Festival of Voices attracts singers and those who love to hear vocal music from all over Australia.
The Big Sing, held at Salamanca Place, is just one of 50 attractions for festival-goers. Events during the five-day festival are conveniently located in venues within comfortable walking distance of each other in central Hobart, and include non-competitive singing, workshops and performances.
The festival had a small but loyal following in its early years, then, in 2008, Green Team Chairman Heather Rose, took on also chairing FoV. Green Team then approached our regular collaborators, Melbourne design company Envelope Group, and in our first festival together in 2009, the three-way partnership returned $1 million to the Tasmania economy.
Workshop participants at the festival increased by 83 per cent on the previous year, choir membership by 47 per cent, and interstate visitors increased by a whooping 300 per cent.

- Well, of course the drinks had to be green, so we settled on Mojitos – perfect for the warm evening. Hobart may be one step short of Antarctica, but we’re the food capital... so we fed our guests on Smoked Dover Salmon, Barilla Bay Oysters, Tempura Huon Valley Mushrooms and spoonfuls of Chicken Jungle Curry – all in the beautiful Henry Jones Art Hotel, one of Tasmania’s entrepreneurial landmarks. A century ago it was the hub of the bottling and preserving industry when Tasmania’s major export was fruit. Now it’s Hobart’s favourite hotel, right on the waterfront.

Picnic and Peperoni
Account Manager Ali Brennan was recently spotted with Nyrstar Hobart's Jane Lonergan at the annual Nyrstar Smelters Picnic in Port Pirie, South Australia. On touring the wares on offer at the event the ladies bypassed the showbags and discovered the ideal way to buy a year's supply of pizza topping and each invested in a ONE METRE long peperoni.
Determined to take their prizes back to Hobart the pair raised a few laughs from security at Adelaide airport, and enthralled Hobart airport's sniffer dog.
Mission accomplished, Ali and Jane are now wondering if they'll be able to finish the peperoni before next year's Picnic comes around again.

Green Team Australia and The Envelope Group picked up the winning award in the hotly contested SME category. Organic food sales in Australia are about to hit $1billion
Organic produce is continuing its march into the mainstream, with experts tipping whole sectors of the grocery market could eventually go chemical-free.
With the help of the supermarkets, which now account for 60 per cent of organic sales, the sector has grown from a $128 million cottage industry in 2004 to nearly $1 billion a year. Nearly two out of three shoppers have bought an organic product in the past 12 months.

On 15 December 2008 Prime Minister Kevin Rudd said that: "Climate change is nothing less than a threat to our people, our nation and our planet... The incontestable truth of climate change is that a decision not to act is in fact an active decision; an active decision to place the next generation at grave risk."
And on 6 November 2009 Kevin Rudd said: "When you strip away all the political rhetoric... there are two stark choices, action or inaction. The resolve of the Australian Government is clear; we choose action."
And "No responsible government confronted with the evidence delivered by the 4000 scientists associated with the international panel could then in conscience choose not to act." - yet on 27 April 2010 Kevin Rudd choose not to act.
