Account Manager Ali Brennan was recently spotted with Nyrstar Hobart's Jane Lonergan at the annual Nyrstar Smelters Picnic in Port Pirie, South Australia. On touring the wares on offer at the event the ladies bypassed the showbags and discovered the ideal way to buy a year's supply of pizza topping and each invested in a ONE METRE long peperoni.
Determined to take their prizes back to Hobart the pair raised a few laughs from security at Adelaide airport, and enthralled Hobart airport's sniffer dog.
Mission accomplished, Ali and Jane are now wondering if they'll be able to finish the peperoni before next year's Picnic comes around again.

- Well, of course the drinks had to be green, so we settled on Mojitos – perfect for the warm evening. Hobart may be one step short of Antarctica, but we’re the food capital... so we fed our guests on Smoked Dover Salmon, Barilla Bay Oysters, Tempura Huon Valley Mushrooms and spoonfuls of Chicken Jungle Curry – all in the beautiful Henry Jones Art Hotel, one of Tasmania’s entrepreneurial landmarks. A century ago it was the hub of the bottling and preserving industry when Tasmania’s major export was fruit. Now it’s Hobart’s favourite hotel, right on the waterfront.
